Hobbycraft haul

For Christmas I was very lucky to receive vouchers for one of my favourite shops-Hobbycraft.

I have until now, been resisting the urge to go and splurge it but yesterday was the day  I did.

I had already in mind certain things I would quite like, namely more needles, wool, aida and fimo.  When I got there I saw a great variety of Hungry Caterpillar fabrics, which is quite deadly as I have been thinking for weeks that I am going to make the new arrival a play mat out of such fabric!

Here is what I decided on instead:

These bits are what I call “essentials” for my  craft stock; a replenishment of card blanks, ultra strong pritt stick and some white fimo.

Two new sets of needles for some new projects.

My amazing range of merino wool! This was after massive whittling down! I also nearly got some Rowan, but didn’t want to go too much over my £50 gift card! The spring colours; green, blue, yellow and orange are baby merino so i’m going to do a project for the little bump with those.  Haven’t yet decided between a blanket or individual items, we shall see.  The other merinos are just colours I loved, my intention is for (another!) blanket, although might also try some little toys or boots or baby gloves…we shall see!

This final gadget is something I had unwittingly wanted for years!!! I sometimes like to stitch onto cards but get so annoyed at the process of making the holes! Little did I know, these beauties exist! I was genuinely so fascinated by the whole range you can get and found it quite hard to decide.  In the end went for the cross stitch version, as this tends to be the stitch I use most often.  I’ll let you know how it goes!
